ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Sharon Hernes Silverman is the author of several hundred articles and seven books, including
Pennsylvania Snacks: A Guide to Food Factory Tours (2001), Daniel Boone Homestead: Pennsylvania Trail of History Guide (2000), and
Going Underground: Your Guide to Caves in the Mid-Atlantic (1991). For three years she wrote
“At the Inn,” a column for Maryland Magazine. In 1992 she won a Hawaii Visitors Bureau travel writing award for her
Denver Post article about the island of Niihau. Silverman lives with her husband and two sons in West Chester, Pennsylvania. Interviews and appearances can be arranged.
